My Wardrobe

The New Layer Game

The 90s' called and it wants my turtlenecks back...

Buffy obsession aside, I knew I was on to a good thing over a decade ago when I introduced the humble turtleneck into my wardrobe. Now with a winter chill officially settling in here in Sydney, there couldn't be a better time to bring those great layering pieces back. I found this mock neck tee at & Other Stories on my trip to London back in March - while Europe promised Spring weather, the reality was popping into Uniqlo to pick up a few extra thermals for those really chilly days.

What I really love about these layering pieces is that they allow you to get away with wearing all those fun, simple wardrobe favourites like silk camisoles and slip dresses, or a light sweater, that would usually be reserved for warmer temperatures, without having to hide it all under a big jacket. Not that I don't love jackets!

Aside from this & Other Stories tee, I have also been living in the ribbed wool turtlenecks from Uniqlo and an oversized cable knit sweater with a lovely big collar by Faithfull. A little bit of warmth around your neck makes all the difference after all...
