New Season Details: Eyelet Dressing

Sleek, key pieces

get a modern update for Spring.

One of the best ways to update your wardrobe this season is to look for those special details that can give your favourite, classic styles an exciting new update. One of these for me is the eyelet trend that has emerged - it’s a great way to incorporate a little bit of that 70s’ look while still being very modern. I have always loved gold hardware, so this detail is going to be making a strong appearance in my Spring Summer wardrobe.

Firstly, there is the jumpsuit. I could talk forever about the closet essential that is a black jumpsuit. While previously it’s been seen as more of a casual piece, new styles like this one shoulder number are a great option to consider for evening. In this case, the clean silhouette and neckline make this style sophisticated and flattering - cinching you in at the waist and highlighting your collarbone. To complete the look I’ve accessorised with subtle gold jewellery that complements the gold hardware and makes this ensemble feel even more luxurious. Pair it with a simple evening bag or clutch and a black pump for an outfit that’s guaranteed to make a statement.

Next up is the fitted top with dual eyelet detailing - a great way to incorporate this look into your everyday wardrobe. For a comfortable and stylish work outfit, I pair these back with a wide leg knit pant, another one of my wardrobe staples. I’ll usually start my mornings by catching up on emails over a cup of coffee and running over my schedule for the day. This is kind of outfit that can easily take you from the office to meetings and appointments and then into evening, all you need to do is add some accessories and a great pump or mule and you’re good to go. To take me to an after work event, I have added a red lip, mini gold hoop earrings, this statement bangle and a thick strappy heel. It’s a play on proportions that’s both graphic and fun making it the perfect desk to dusk ensemble.
