Lessons In Layering

The Classics

Black, Grey & White.

One of the good things about a Sydney winter is that you can get away with much more of a trans-seasonal wardrobe. I shot this two weeks ago on a clear, sunny day - in weather like this I love to wear a slip dress or silk blouse with a coat layered on top. This slip dress and scarf are from Daniel Avakian's Spring Summer collection which I fell for during the runway show at MBFWA.

My approach to layering is generally more is more, but I do love the simplicity of just a few lightweight pieces balanced with something heavier, like this grey coat. Play with different lengths, shade and textures and don't be afraid to add or take away or add on as needed.

In other news, the first of my five pieces, these Aquazurra flats have been absolute perfection. I have been wearing them everywhere and anywhere. There is a lot to be said for a shoe that can dress up an outfit but keep you comfortable at the same time (sorry birkenstocks, I still love you).

Wearing Daniel Avakian Dress & Scarf, Country Road Coat, Aquazzura Christy Flats (available here and here) and Celine Trio.
